Can you make us a sign? OF COURSE, we can – but first, we need to figure out what the heck you’re talking about. Asking yourself these few simple questions and planning ahead, will help us quickly determine what kind of sign would work best for you! 

Where is it going?

Is it going inside or outside? What conditions will it be under? This factor plays a role in the materials we choose to work with. 

How long do I need it?

How long will you be needing this sign? For a weekend event? 6 months? Multiple years? The duration and location plays a key role in helping is determine what materials to use and include in your estimate.

If a sign is being used for short-term use, then we can probably use less durable materials i.e. foam board instead of aluminum panel. If it’s being used for the long-term, we will have to use hardier materials, and add finishing elements i.e. laminate to make sure the sign lasts over time. 

What is the purpose of the sign?

What is the primary message you are looking to broadcast with this sign? Is it informational? Attention-grabbing? The goal behind the sign, plays a key role in the design elements chosen. Start brainstorming beforehand – but don’t get too complicated! We do stress: Less is more. 

What size is the image or graphic?

Depending on where your sign is going, the size can play a huge role in visibility. What is the viewing distance? Will your sign need to readable from across the street, or only for close up viewing? This will tell us how large or small your images and text should be. 

Are you supplying the art file, or are we designing it?

At Speedpro Burloak, we have a full-time graphic designer on staff to help customers bring their creative visions to life. But, if you have a designer in-house, or happen to be a designer yourself, we can use your existing art files as long as they are “print-ready,” meaning little has to be done on our end, aside from a quick file check. 

If we’re starting from scratch, it’s helpful to have some reference images or points to go off of. Find some images or ideas online, to give us a starting point and we will take it from there! 

What kind of budget do you have for this project?

At Speedpro Burloak, we have options for every budget. We pride ourselves on offering creative marketing solutions to small-medium sized businesses, who understandably have ranging budgets to spend on their visual communication needs. However, if you provide us with a set price range you are looking to stay in, we will do our best to provide you only with options and choices that you are comfortable with. If, down the line, you would like to spend a little more or a little, less we can revise your estimate accordingly. Either way, it’s a good idea to have a range in mind before we start chatting. 

When do you need it by? 

A lot of times we have customers come in saying the need a job completed tomorrow, when really, we know there’s a little more wiggle room in there. Please have a clear deadline in mind when we ask “and when do you need this by?” That way, we can prioritize your job, along with the others in que, and everyone can meet their deadlines on time. Now, if you DO actually need a rush job completed in a hurry. We will do our very best to make it happen – as long as we have the materials in-house (or can get them day-of) and production turn-around is possible in one business day.
