Did you know that NU Grocery is Ottawa’s very first zero waste grocery store?! They are located in Hintonburg, just off of Wellington Street West. Their mission is to eliminate packaging waste and completely reinvent consumption. With the amount of waste per year the average Canadian produces, we can each play a crucial part in reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills. By buying sustainable products in the quantities that we need for the time being are two great ways to eliminate packaging waste and food waste.
Valerie, the brilliant Founder and CEO of NU Grocery, mentions that “NU offers an alternative to the wasteful mass consumption that puts a strain on our planet. Our products are packaging- free, but they are also all-natural and, whenever possible, organic and local.
