Prepping for vehicle wraps: the Design

October 10, 2018

Fleet graphics take your company’s brand along with you wherever you travel. When properly done, they’ll craft an indelible impression upon anyone who shares the streets with you. However, how will you go from a boring, bland vehicle to a completely wrapped one?

What Will You Need to Begin?

There are actually 3 things you have to know before you start a fleet graphics job:

Graphics—You will ideally have an idea of what you want to be shown on the fleet. But, it isn’t really necessary. Our sales staff may brainstorm with you to collect the details our in-house design team has to have to craft an idea.

Timeline—Your satisfaction is critical to us; therefore, we want to ensure that you have realistic expectations of how long it’ll take to craft fleet graphics which meet our standards.

Your Fleet—Before beginning the process, it is important that you have identified your fleet. That means that you’ll come to us knowing how many cars you need to wrap, and where they are located.

Typical Roadblocks

We have been making graphics for cars for years; therefore, we are familiar with problems which may place the brakes on a project. Those factors easily are preventable with a bit of foresight. A few of those issues include:

Incomplete Vehicle List—As a customer visits us with an incomplete vehicle list, it’ll make it extremely challenging to know exactly how many cars they have to have wrapped. A massive fleet that does not have an updated car list, a list that lacks years and models for their vehicles, may cause a roadblock which will extend the quantity of time it’ll take to get the project done. It is wise to do a full vehicle inventory, with the most updated details on it, before you go to the printer.

No Artwork—As aforementioned, we may make an original design with our designers who work in-house, yet it will take more time. It’s possible to save both if you have the ability to bring a design which immediately may be implemented.

Top 10 Things You Should Know Before Starting A Fleet Graphics Job

  1. If you have current graphics, what is it that you do not like about them? Cracking, peeling, failing? Company acquisition? Old look?
  2. How long are your graphics going to be on your vehicles? one-year, three-years, five-years, seven to ten years?
  3. Do you have to have our design team make something?
  4. Do you have a Marketing team or designer already working upon your idea?
  5. Do you have a vision of what you want the graphics to appear like?
  6. Where are they situated? If new units, where are they going to be delivered? If used ones, where are they situated? Multiple locations? Out of state? Local?
  7. If they’re used, is there removal of the older graphics? If the answer is yes, how long have they been upon the vehicles?
  8. Are they used vehicles? New? Both?
  9. What’s the timeline?
  10. How many vehicles are you going to want to brand?
