Trade Show Prep List – Things That You Can’t Forget

Given a trade show event’s performance-like nature, it is almost like a type of theater; no successful theater performance is able to succeed without supplies, proper set, and prep. At the following trade show, do not find yourself on the receiving end of tomatoes; bring the following items to assist in ensuring an applause.

Signs

While preparing for your appearance, be certain to have several signs—banners, posters, etc.—which folks can see from multiple angles. Draw attention to a booth in a way that is classy and noticeable.

Presentation media

Signage draws attention; the right presentation media assists in keeping it there. While setting up a display, make sure you have some type of interactive presentation media. Brief video clips, slideshow presentations, and demonstrations that are packed with visual aids will go a long way in engaging prospects.

Promo Items

Everyone loves free stuff. Before the convention, reach out to companies that create custom gifts—tee-shirts, mugs, calendars, tote bags, wristbands—and decorate some of these with your company’s motto, color scheme, and logo. If your promo item is good, it will draw visitors from all across an event and present them to what you’re offering: your product or service.

Business cards

The majority of attendees, at the end of a hectic day, are going to be geared with tote bags, fatigue, and hopefully, business cards. The placards help to cut through the clutter and assist clients in remembering and engaging with you in the long-run.

Organizers

Invest in business card stands, boxes and jars for promotional products, and sustain placement parameters for products on your table. Otherwise, the chaos at the trade show is going to overwhelm your set-up and turn the trade show booth to a pig sty.

Supplies Box

Always be certain to bring along some type of supply box—which includes tape, pens, stapler, rubber bands, scissors, paper clips, zip ties, knife, thread, and so on—to assist in keeping posters in place, displays from falling apart, and table tarps attached.

Extension cords and power strip

If the display heavily hinges on technology, bring along the right wiring equipment. Or else, the battery is going to drop like a stone and the outlets are going to be too far away.

Refreshments

Trade shows are like marathons. Amidst the crowds, you have to pace yourself, keep your eyes on the goal, and, more importantly, stay hydrated. Bring all of the necessary water and snacks to get through the day, in case it’s not possible to make a pit stop at a table and particularly if there’s an open bar. If you can, bring additional bottles of water to hand out to prospects.
