At Speedpro Etobicoke, Brampton, and Mississauga East, we are incredibly honored to collaborate with some of the most talented and creative artists from across Ontario. Our partnerships with these artists have been deeply inspiring, allowing us to bring their visions to life through our large-format prints.
One of our most rewarding experiences has been working on beautification projects in Mississauga, where we’ve partnered with local artists to transform their stunning artwork into eye-catching large-scale vinyl prints that now adorn various locations across the city. These projects have not only added vibrant splashes of color to the urban landscape but have also fostered a deeper connection between the community and the arts.
Recently, we had the privilege of working with Philip Cote, MFA—an Indigenous artist, activist, historian, and Ancestral Knowledge Keeper from Moose Deer Point First Nation, representing Shawnee, Lakota, Potawatomi, and Ojibway heritage. https://muralroutes.ca/member/philip-cote/ Our collaboration with Philip involved bringing his vibrant mural paintings to life through stunning window graphics at Loblaws Companies Ltd. head office in Mississauga. These artworks, deeply rooted in oral traditions and spiritual perspectives, have transformed the space, much to the delight of both Philip and the Loblaws employees.
Our journey with Philip didn’t end there. We were honored to work with him again in collaboration with the Islington United Church on their Right Relations Circle, a group dedicated to understanding Canada’s past relationship with Indigenous Peoples and fostering reconciliation through education, programming, and direct engagement with Indigenous communities. At Speedpro Etobicoke, Brampton, and Mississauga East, our commitment to bringing art to life has led to some truly inspiring projects. This recent collaboration on a series of 8ft x 16ft stretch banner installations stands out as one of our most impactful undertakings. Working closely with Philip and the dedicated team at Islington United Church, we crafted these large-scale banners using specialized custom-made frames. The attention to detail and precision in installation has resulted in a display that is nothing short of stunning.
The Right Relations Circle is committed to reconciliation—a process of developing respectful relationships between Indigenous Peoples and settlers across Canada. It involves working together to overcome the devastating effects of colonization, including the intergenerational trauma caused by residential schools. Reconciliation means walking the path of peacemaking and justice together, and this is something we at Speedpro are deeply committed to supporting.
These banners, infused with Philip’s rich cultural narratives and artistic expertise, have become more than just art—they are a testament to the power of collaboration, creativity, and the shared goal of fostering reconciliation. The vibrant colors and profound messages captured in these banners are now beautifully showcased, creating a visual and emotional impact on everyone who experiences them.
In this spirit, we are proud to have been part of a significant event on September 22, when Islington United Church and Indigenous Peoples of Etobicoke will come together to bless the commissioned mural, Etobicoke — Place of the Alders: Honouring the Original Story, created by Philip Cote. This day will be marked by a Sacred Fire, Smudging, and a Mural Blessing Ceremony, followed by a celebration with Indigenous drumming, singing, and dancing.
We are honored to have been commissioned to work with the artists and community members dedicated to reconciliation. Your witness and participation in this act of Reconciliation is deeply appreciated. We are incredibly proud of the results and are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful project. This collaboration reflects our dedication not only to the craft of large-format printing but also to the communities and causes we serve.
